Aerobics Music

Since the nineteen seventies, the aerobics dance workouts have been a big hit. Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas wrote a book on it. It was so popular it started a new craze in the world of exercise. Dancing with good aerobics music will help improve that heart beat by pumping more oxygen into the body. Working out with aerobics has been proven to help provide good health, alertness and can decrease the stress level. One should do aerobics at least for fifteen minutes a day and with a regime of three days a week.

One aerobics music used today is called Zumba. It is from the Latino inspired movement of aerobics founded by Beto Perez of Colombia. As the tale goes, he forgot his aerobics music one day and had to use what was on his car radio, which was salsa and meringue (somewhat a ball room dance which uses a lot of hip and shoulder movements) music. As most of us know salsa music is well known for its sassy movements, using the entire body at times. The meringue music and the salsa music Perez used became an instant hit with the people doing aerobics. Doing aerobics music such as the Zumba gives you quite a workout.

There are many types of aerobics music to workout with. It can really be uplifting if you walk into the gym and hear some outstanding, jazzy music blaring. Music is one of the most important aspects of setting mood to exercise by. Let’s face it, any kind of exercise is boring, but with aerobics music it will stimulate your body as well as your mind. The instructor when using aerobics music depends on the music to keep the thirty two count, one hundred and twenty beats per minute. They start you out with a limbering warm up to the end thrust of motion. This tells them who is in good condition and who is not.

A good aerobics workout is broken down in drills and movements that are called routines. When aerobics music hits the top of the musical phrase, it tells the student to get ready for the next workout undertaking. The lyrics change and either a new instrument or arrangement says that the instructor will lead them through another set of drills.

Aerobics music is often used in all types of fitness activities. Curves for Women are a good example of this. They have a constant set of songs playing, and another tape with a strong commanding voice telling them when it is time to shift to the next movement. With aerobics music there must be that constant beat, such as the oldies but goodies music. Many older people really get a kick out of that kind of music. As it brings back such good memories this kind of aerobics music puts a smile on their faces.

Some aerobics music can be played underwater for those who enjoy the water aerobics workout. It is interesting to listen to aerobics music under water; it really can give the same kind of workout than listening it above water. Water aerobics is great for people who have arthritis and cannot do them on a hard surface.
